Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life (see John 14:6). The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth; in other words, He is the spirit of the Living God. Jesus Christ sent Him to His followers to dwell in them and to help them to do the work of God here on earth (see Acts 2:2–4). When Jesus finished His assignment here on earth, the Holy Spirit continued the work Jesus Christ started.
The Holy Spirit is helper or comforter because He helps all the followers of Jesus Christ. He connects them to God and hears from God. I call Him the spiritual network from heaven to earth, or from the spiritual world to the physical world. He brings messages from God to us and also takes message from us to God. You can hear from God through Him, and God can speak to us through Him.
The Holy Spirit is a spiritual best friend sent from God. Pray to Jesus Christ to send Him to you, because you need Him to help you hear from God and to help you do those things you cannot do for yourself. If you have Him, you have a best friend in life, so you must maintain your relationship with Him.
The best way to maintain your relationship with Him is by listening to Him and doing what God says through His manifestation of the Holy Spirit (see 1 Corinthians 12:8–11).
